Today’s reading: Matthew 13:47-15:39

My selection: Matthew 14:33

And those in the boat worshiped him, saying, “Truly you are the Son of God.”

My reflections: The disciples got it! Jesus is the Son of God. Their response? They worshiped Him right there in the boat.

Jesus multiplied food for 5000, healed people, cast out demons, walked on the water, allowed Peter to walk on the water, and calmed the storm. After all this, they got it.

Matthew started his gospel by reporting the conversation of the angel of the Lord with Joseph. The baby was conceived by the Holy Spirit. He would save His people from their sins. He could only do that because He Himself was the Son of God, sinless, perfect, without guilt of His own.

My challenge: Do you believe that Jesus is the Son of God? He deserves our complete worship, including the daily tasks we do before Him, and the directed worship and prayer to Him. Worship Him. Serve Him. Trust Him.

Tomorrow’s reading: Matthew 16:1-18:35
