Today’s reading: Exodus 38:21-40:38

My selection: Exodus 40:31

33 And he erected the court around the tabernacle and the altar, and set up the screen of the gate of the court. So Moses finished the work.

My reflections:

Two things strike me here.

1. Moses paid attention to God’s instructions. God gave great detail to Moses in the specifications of the tabernacle, the furnishings, and the priestly garments. How do we know?  Moses wrote down those details.  This shows that he was paying attention to what God was commanding him.

2. Moses completed the task. Moses was not a mere starter who left a trail of unfinished projects behind him.  He saw it through to the end.  He made sure all the workers did their work according to the plan.

My challenge: Since God has gone to great lengths to redeem a people for Himself, praise Him for His mercy and grace to us. Since God calls us to do His will with care and thoroughness, do today what He has commanded in His strength for His glory sparing no effort. If you know God wants you to do it, do it and finish it.

Tomorrow’s reading: Leviticus 1:1- 5:13
