None Like God

Writer's picture: jacarroll71jacarroll71

Today’s reading: Isaiah 46:1-50:11

My selection: Isaiah 46:9b-11

I am God, and there is none like me,

10 declaring the end from the beginning

and from ancient times things not yet done,

saying, ‘My counsel shall stand,

and I will accomplish all my purpose,’

11 calling a bird of prey from the east,

the man of my counsel from a far country.

I have spoken, and I will bring it to pass;

I have purposed, and I will do it.

My reflections: God’s rule extends over all the earth (vs. 11). God’s rule extends over man, beasts, and birds. God’s rule means He accomplishes what He proposes. God’s rule includes the complete fulfillment of His purposes.

My challenge: How are we to respond? Remember and stand firm (vs. 8). Do not be blown around by the momentary, apparent triumph of evil. Do not be lured astray by other gods who seem to be in control. Fear and obey the Lord. Trust and rely on God (50:10). He alone is God.

Tomorrow’s reading: Isaiah 51:1-56:8
